Nancie Johnson

Ballet Instructor

Nancie began her ballet training at the age of seven under the direction of Cynthia Young and Charles & Phillip Fuller at Le Studio the home of Pasadena Dance Theatre. She was accepted to several summer intensive programs such as San Francisco Ballet & Pacific Northwest Ballet. Nancie attended CSU Long Beach on a dance scholarship and continued her ballet training with Rebecca Wright former dancer with American Ballet Theatre. She was asked to stay year-round as an apprentice to The Hartford Ballet Company in Connecticut and trained under Truman Finney & Kirk Peterson.

Other teaching influences include Glenda Carhart, David Wilcox, Cecilia Hering, Axel Hering, Charles Maple, & Francisco Martinez. Nancie performed with Los Angeles Classical Ballet, Golden State Ballet & Redlands Festival Ballet, performing in productions such as The Nutcracker, La Fille Mal Gardee, Cinderella, Coppelia, Romeo & Juliet, Faust, Pas De Quatre, & Don Quixote. She also performed as a soloist in the Glory of Easter at the Crystal Cathedral. She has choreographed for Long Beach Ballet Classical Ballet Academy’s pre-professional performing company. Two of her pieces were chosen and performed at Regional Dance America.

Throughout her teaching career, Nancie has had the privilege of inspiring dancers at several local studios, including Just Plain Dancing, Corona Dance Academy, and Avi’s Dance Project. She is thrilled to now be part of the Inspire Dance Complex family and is excited to share her passion for ballet while nurturing each student & building confidence, technique, and encouraging a lifelong love of dance.
